STAYTON, Ore.— Following finishing Oregon West Conference Runner-Up Monday and third in the District, the Cascade Boys Golf team will be heading to the 4A ‘State’ Golf Showcase on May 17 at Trysting Tree Golf Course in Corvallis.
Woodburn won the boys Oregon West Conference Golf Title with a team score of 356 at Santiam Golf Course Monday afternoon in Stayton. Cascade finished four strokes behind the Bulldogs as the Cougars Ramsey Gordon shot a team-low 85. 12 strokes behind Woodburn’s Cole Beyer’s 75 who won the Conference title. Ty Beyer (Woodburn, 82), Gordon in third, the Cougars Colin Smittle and the Bulldogs Jordan Blem tied at fourth with an 86. Sisters Evan Eby shooting an 87 to round out the Top 5.
The Cougars saw Izaah Zavala shot a 92, Ky Hermeistrand a 97 and Ben Hermeistrand shot a 103. Stayton’s Owen Bromley shot a 105 to lead the team. Justin Gardner was 11 strokes back at 116 as the Eagles finished fifth as a squad with a team-score of 477. Carsen Perry shot a team-low 94 for Sweet Home. Elliot Crowder shot a team-low 101 for Newport.
In the Special District 2 Standings, which combines the OWC and Sky-Em Conference, Marist won the District Title with a 312. Woodburn was second at 356, as they’re heading to the 4A Golf Showcase and Cascade was third.
