KEIZER, Ore.–  The West Salem Titans 14U squad came out swinging in their single-game match-up Thursday night at Keizer Little League against the NW Vandals 14U.  Forcing the Vandals into four errors in the opening inning, scoring 12 of their 18 runs in the top half of the first inning on this cool September evening.

The Vandals would settle in for the second inning as Marlina Morales drove in the squads first run in the bottom half of the first inning of the Titans 18-9 victory.  Their defense, which featured three solid innings from Jasmine Morales, slowed the Titans bats to six runs over the remainder of the daylight-shortened contest.

Mackenzie Bohnstedt led the Titans with 2-for-3 hitting and 3RBI’s and Amyah Miranda drove three in with a fourth-inning three-run home run as they enter this weekend’s games.

The Vandals too saw a home run of their own.  A two-run shot by Cole in the bottom half of the third that helped spark a five-run inning to cut a then 15-1 lead to 15-6 going into the fourth and final inning.

Morales and Kaylee Waller scored on pass balls before Macey McCuiston drove in the Vandals ninth and final run in the game in the bottom of the fourth inning.  Cole and Hadley Craig drove in 2RBI’s each for the Vandals, who will be at Wallace Marine Park this weekend at the NW Fall Wrap-Up.
