STAYTON, Ore.– After helping lead the Stayton Lady Eagles to a 16-9 overall record in 2017 and a 6-4, third-place finish in the Oregon West Conference that was capped with an heart-felt rally with fellow senior Alyssa Lindemann, Tess Hendricks will be taking her talents down the 22 to Chemeketa Community College this upcoming basketball season in a ceremony at the high school Tuesday morning.
Eagles Athletic Director and Girls Head Basketball Coach Darren Shryock spoke highly of the OWC First-Teamer as Hendricks makes the jump to the Junior College Level in the 2017-2018 school year.
“Tess is a very good player, but a better person,” starts Shryock. “I am excited for her to be able to continue to play at the next level. She has a love for the game and that translates into hard work to get better. We will miss her as an Eagle, but wish her the best of luck with the Storm.”
Hendricks will be joining a young, freshman-heavy turning sophomore-heavy Storm squad that went 7-20 overall and 4-12 this past season in a very tough NWAC South Conference that features powerhouse Umpqua Community College (who won the NWAC South this past season with a 29-3 overall record and 16-0 league record). Lane CC and Clackamas Community College.
