McKay Wrastling Improves to 3-1 in league

By Jeremy McDonald

SALEM, Ore.–  Man, the Wrestlers at McKay just keep finding ways to get it done and Wednesday at home was no different.

Big wins by Bryant Mendoza (by pin), Shane Tennis (by Pin) to go with two early forfeit wins helped set the pace early as the Scots jumped out to a 42-18 lead as they continued that trend with their heavier weights en route to a 51-30 victory to string back-to-back Greater Valley Conference wins.

In his first league match in a while due to forfeits against him the past few matches, ‘Chava’ Carmago looked as if he wrestled those league matches as he got a win Wednesday.

“I think we did amazing today,” Carmago said of his team performance.
“We went out there and wrestled hard and it showed. We just need to use this momentum and bring it tomorrow for these Olys and show them how hard we work in the mat room and just compete hard and we should have some success like we did today.”

Sprague.  Three-time District Champions and always a tough test, and tomorrow will be no different as the Olympians are riding high into Thursday’s dual versus the Scots after their 60-10 victory over North Salem.

Junior Varsity starts at 6pm with Varsity at 7pm at Sprague High School.
