COLTON, Ore.– Head Coach Ben Brown said Tuesday that Colton was a good team and sure did the YellowJackets live up to their name Friday night by holding the Lady Crusaders to 25-percent shooting from the field overall while forcing 15 turnovers.
All while holding Salem Academy to their second lowest point total of the season at 38.
But the defense of Salem Academy did what there good at as well by holding Colton to under ten points in each quarter as they outscored the ‘Jackets 22-13 in the second half for the 38-21 victory Friday night.
Sydney Brown shot 54-percent from the field as she lead all scorers with 22 points to go with her 14 boards in nearly 26 minutes of play. Brown had a game high four blocks and Eva Hardy had a game-high seven steal.
The Crusaders will have the weekend to heal up as they look to hand rival Blanchet their first league loss of the season Tuesday at BC.
The Cavailers however, had their hands full with Gervais Friday as they used a 19-2 run to close out the half to turn a 12-6 deficit to a 25-14 lead at the half in their 43-30 win over the Lady Cougars.
