Anundi’s Dunk Caps Stayton’s Sweep of Cottage Grove

STAYTON, Ore.–There is nothing like a clean dunk during any game.

But how about one that gives you the lead in a epic comeback?

Kaleb Anundi did just that as Aidan Hill set up the big man as the dunk resulted in giving the Stayton Eagles Boys Basketball team a three-point lead late in the game after being down for most of the game by double-figures.

It’ll be a lead that the Eagles would never relinquish as they finish off the Lions 59-53 as they now prepare for Astoria on Friday.

GIRLS BASKETBALL-  Lady Eagles found a way to win in a ugly game to improve to 6-3 behind 18 points from Tess Hendricks in the 32-20 win over Cottage Grove Friday night as both the guys and girls enter the final week of the preseason.

“I think that getting this win helps boost our confidence especially getting towards the end of pre season. We just need to keep up the momentum as we work our way into league and keep our confidence up through the next few game,” said Alyssa Lindemann.

With them traveling to Sutherlin Tuesday to play the defending 4A Champs before ending the preseason at home versus Astoria, it’s going to come down to execution to finish the preseason strong when they start the final week on the road.

“We just need to execute our plays and have a good defensive game, and play with determination especially since we will be on their home court,” said Lindemann.
