WILLAMINA, Ore.–  The offense of Gervais (3-3) is still coming together here in the early going of the season as their defense continues to dominate.

Senior Fabiola Benavides and Junior Daisy Correra both had five points apiece in the 20-13 loss to the Bulldogs with senior Andrea Villegas scoring the other three points for the Cougars as they turn and prepare for the tournament at Amity High School Friday and Saturday.

Head Coach Kyle Buse is confident that his team is ready to take their game to the next level as they teams they’ll be facing this weekend will proved a strong gut check for the girls on the foundation they have built during these first six games.

“Well we play some good teams this weekend at Amity tournament,” starts Buse.  “It’s gut check time for the girls. I need to know who wants to start playing at the next level. We are trying to build something special and right now we have the foundation layed, the ground floor is built and a descent first season from last year. We have to get back to playing focused basketball. Confident team basketball.”

Gervais will play host Amity (3-2) Friday at 6pm at Amity High School.
