SALEM, Ore.– The last time North Salem Volleyball team matched up with West Salem, the Titans held the Viks to single-digits in two of the three set victories by West.
Well, that wasn’t the case Thursday night when North opened the night with the same Titan squad from September 1, and though the girls of the Viks were swept, the girls proved that they are better than they were last month with the 25-16, 25-18, 25-14 match.
“We definitely competed with them and they were pretty shook that we had improved a lot since the first time they played us,” said senior Sydnee Rupp. “I thought we played great all around tonight.”
North wasn’t done yet as after an intermission the girls were at it against their Market Street rivals in McKay.
And riding that mojo from their match versus West Salem, the Viks responded for the three-set sweep of the Scots to improve to 5-14 on the season and 2-11 in the Greater Valley Conference.
Through a slow start to start the night, North has a lot to rest their hats on as they turn to Forest Grove Monday night at North Salem High School.
“I feel like we all played our game together and we worked well together,” said Rupp. “We struggled a little bit in the first game but we got through it and pushed ourselves and came out with the win!”
