YAMHILL, Ore.– It came down to the wire between a Yamhill-Carlton Tiger team looking for the playoffs and a Stayton baseball team looking to end the season strong.
Tied at 2-2, Kyle Jorgenson gave the Eagles a 3-2 lead and Ryan Brown was 3-3 with two steals entering the sixth inning.
But, the lead was short lived as the Tigers rallied back from a one-run deficit in the bottom of the seventh inning to take the game 4-3 as they try to keep up with North Marion for third-place in the Oregon West Conference.
For Stayton, they enter the last week of the season with two home games with the Huskies Monday before taking on Cascade Wednesday for the rubber match game and Senior Day before going to Philomath to end the season Friday.
