In last night’s Monday Night Football game, it could’ve been the straw that broke the camels back for the replacement referees in the National Football League.
Up to this point, the errors that have been made by them were minor “screw ups” but in last’s night 14-12 Seattle Seahawks win over the Green Bay Packers, it could’ve been different.
In a last ditch effort to win the game, the Sehawks chucked up a hail mary pass that looked like it was intercepted by the Packers before it was reviewed by the referees.
Looking at the footage it became apparent that it was an intercepted before the referees ruled it a touchdown with the Seahawks winning the game.
After some 77,000 messages left at the NFL offices last night into today, Roger Goodell had ruled it a Seahawks win because of not enough video evidence to over rule it.
In Goodell’s eyes, he’s siding with these replacements because he wants to put more pressure on the actual referees to side with the contracts the league has offer them.
But thanks to these past decisions, fans are now threatening to stop going to games all together. Which now has owner’s beginning to changes their stories and side with the actual referees because they don’t want to lose more money over this issue.
The question becomes now, how long do we have to wait before we see the actual paid referees come back?
I mean, how long can the league lose money with fans stop showing up or watching at home before they just find some common ground with the referees or even crumble to their needs all together.
It’s just a matter of time.
