SALEM, Ore.– It wasn’t how South Salem wanted to end a great season, dropping a tough Playoff Opener to Roseburg 13-1 at home Monday afternoon.
Senior Tori Doten would go on to hit a massive home-run in his final game as a Saxons to left field in the bottom of the fourth inning that represented the lone run in the game for South Salem and was one of the four hits for the boys in Grey and Blue as they struggled to find a way around the Indians on this hot day in May.
And though the Saxons are losing Doten, Caiden Weaver and Kyle Martz to Graduation; they are returning a slew of talent that includes First Team Pitcher Ryan Brown, Unanimous First team catcher Aaron Zavala and Honorable Mention in Sean Alvarado that are coming back in 2018
Brown had a strikeout, Gavin Fredinburg and Elijah Enomoto-Haole both had two strikeouts apiece in the playoff loss.
