SALEM, Ore.– What a way to end the season as a Salem Academy squad that’s consisting of sophomores and juniors just drop one game all season long, to a particular team that they are playing Saturday February 18 at Sprague High School.
But first was about Thursday night as three Lady Crusaders scored no lower than 12 points in the 62-20 victory over a Colton team that held them to 38 points on January 20.
In a matter of fact, Sydney Brown’s 13, Eva Hardy’s 14 and Aimee Smith’s 23 would surpass that point total in Thursday’s match-up as Brown added another double-double to her amazing resume with 12 rebounds.
The junior also added six assist and four blocks. But Smith would outdo Brown in the assist category as she had a team high seven as Salem Academy had a 48 point lead at one point late in the contest.
Now, back to the league playoff. With Blanchet defeating Gervais 45-25 Thursday in Gervais, the two find themselves in an unique position unfamiliar to both sides as they finish the PacWest Conference at 11-1 and splitting the season series.
Grudge Match for playoff seeding? Sounds like an Olympic task as both will travel to Sprague High School for a 5pm tip.
