INDEPENDENCE, Ore.– Believe it or not, Cascade was behind in this one at the halftime break to Central.
22-17 to be exact was the score entering the third quarter.
But it was short lived as Halle Wright slowly helped awake the beast that is the Cougar Machine as she scored four of her 18 points right off the third quarter start whistle. Next thing you knew, the game was tied when Mariah Hollenbeck drained a three to tie it at 24.

Hollenbeck finished with 13 points in the contest but what was surprising was that Wright and Hollenbeck combined for 25 points themselves in a half that had Cascade scored 31 in the 48-39 victory with the Cascade Holiday Tournament starting Wednesday in Turner.
Wright had 16 to Hollenbecks nine in the second half as the defense cracked down a always competitive Central Cougar squad to just 17 points in the second half as the Cascade Cougars remain unbeaten four games in.
As for Cascade, they’ll open tournament play Wednesday night at 5:30pm versus Gladstone. Central falls to 2-2 and will host Churchill Wednesday at 7pm.
CASCADE SCORERS- Wright-18. Hollenbeck-13. Bangert-8. Molan-6. Miller-3. 3-Pointers-Hollenbeck-2
