GERVAIS, Ore.–Following their heartbreaking loss versus St. Paul Tuesday evening on the road, the Cougars were back to it at home versus Sheridan Friday night.
Having a lead for a majority of the game, mistakes stopped the Cougars as the Spartans pulled off the victory.
For Gervais (2-3), it’s just a matter of cutting down on their mental mistakes to get back to their winning ways as they continue to grow and get better every time they step on the court.
“We had our chances and led most of the game but then we made some mistakes and Sheridan took advantage of it,” said Head Coach Ben Schultz. We have to stop making stupid mistakes. We have some young guys on the team that will do that from time to time. However with the senior leadership that we have we shouldn’t be doing those lazy passes.
“Even in the loss they play well and are getting better with each game.”
The Cougars will travel to Williamina Tuesday looking to break even at 3-3 against a Bulldog team that’s sitting undefeated on the season after Friday’s 54-32 win over Nestucca.
GIRLS BASKETBALL-Following their 30-21 loss to St. Paul Tuesday, the Lady Cougars flipped the script by winning Friday versus Sheridan to go 3-2 on the season and will look to string back-to-back wins Tuesday on the road versus a Williamina team that’s won their last three games including Friday’s game versus Nestucca.
