BANKS, Ore.–  It was a comeback to remember for the Stayton Boys Basketball team Tuesday night at Banks High School.

Down around double-digits, the Eagles roared to life as things just clicked at just the right time for the Stayton squad looking to get into the win column.

And they just did that.

“We came out in the second half knowing we needed to do a better job battling adversity after a tough first half and at one point,” said Aidan Hill  “Everything just clicked and we were at our prime. Felt good to go there and get our first win of the season.”

The final score at the Final Whistle:  Stayton 56, Braves 49 as they used runs of 9-0 and 16-2 to get the win Tuesday on the road.

Exciting is anything short of right to describe the game for the Eagles, but they’re not just done yet as they hope to use this momentum to go up against a similar-style playing team in Tillamook Saturday on the road.

“We need to work hard like that in practice all week this week going into Tillamook on Saturday,” said Hill.  “They are another tough team and keeping this momentum up throughout the week will carry into Saturday. Need to stay focused.”

The road warriors, more to come from this exciting team that’s for sure.

GIRLS BASKETBALL- BANKS 52, STAYTON 32.  It wasn’t what they were hoping as they faced the team that knocked them out of the playoffs a few months ago, but the Lady Eagles know they got a ways to go with the Cheesemakers coming to town Saturday.

“Banks is good. We have a ways to go to be elite, but we competed in spots,” Darren Shryock described the game.

Tip off for the game versus Tillamook is at 7pm at Stayton High School.
