YAMHILL, Ore.– In a wet and slippery conditions, the Stayton Eagles stepped up to the challenge of the conditions as well as the Tigers of Yamhill-Carlton for the win Tuesday afternoon.
“(We) played well. The field was awful, wet and very slick,” said Head Coach Chris Shields. “We adjusted well and played as good as could considering the circumstances.”
Levi Summers scored twice to lead the way for a 5-0 first half lead in the win. David Ramirez, David Gomez and Alex Cramer all added goals in the opening half as the Boys of Stayton look to North Marion Thursday on the road at Aurora.
The Huskies beat Philomath 4-0 Tuesday in Philomath and have won three of four (3-0-1) since North’s last match up September 29.
