KEIZER, Ore.–  Whatever they did, they found a way to get back on track following their loss to Scio last Friday.

With River Moss’ four touchdown performance, the Gervais Cougars (2-2, 1-1 PacWest Conference) not just redeemed themselves from last years 18-12 loss, but scored the most points by a Gervais Football team since 2006.

“Our (offensive) line and all I’ve got to say,” said Moss on the game. “They’ve kept it going up front and they won us the game.

“It was good for our offense to score, how we scored.  We’ve practiced all the plays got in, so once we play Willamina, we’ll be pretty solid.”

Willamina lost to Santiam Christian Friday night 48-7, but they can score points in bunches as they did versus Nestucca with 51 points September 9.

But hey, they can focus on the Bulldogs until Monday as they celebrate the win tonight and this weekend.

“I feel like it’s a good building process for the team even though we can enjoy the win and look forward towards Willamina,” adds Brett Gieselman.  “But we have to focus up on this week on practice and I’m just lucky to have the team victory.”
