SALEM, Ore.–  A few days following their massive 43-0 victory over Forest Grove, the McKay Football team found themselves with the same chips on their shoulders as they did this time last week in preparation for Forest Grove.

The win kind of adds a sense of motivation for the team to keep working at practice in preparation for McNary this upcoming Friday.

“It gives us a lot more motivation to go hard at practice, like more than we already have and knowing that we have the type of talent from everyone on the team like us playing like as a unit and knowing what we can do as a team,” said Anthony Tenorio.

The hunger of that win was something in the works since West Salem and it’s something to build off of entering their game versus the Celtics.

“It felt pretty good to get that win, it’s something that a lot of us have been looking forward to since the West Salem game when it was close of going our way,” said Ryan Bangs.  “I think it’s a lot of momentum for us to build off and take it into this week.”

Carrying that momentum, carrying that chip on their shoulders and that mojo starts with practice as they look to break out of the three-way tie for fourth-place with McNary, North Salem and themselves in the Greater Valley Conference standings.

“We should just practice the same way we did last week,” said Bangs.  “Last week we had the same record  as the other team going into the game and this week we have the same record so we just have to treat everything the same.”

Kickoff is at 7pm at McNary High School
