CENTRAL POINT, Ore.–  It came down to extra innings for the North Salem Vikings baseball team Tuesday in the Crater Spring Break Classic against the host Comets of Crater High School.

Down 3-0 entering the sixth inning, the Vikings found themselves in a bases loaded situation with two outs following a Noah Boatwright walk with Jacob Pfenning coming to the plate.

The senior would get North on the board, breaking the Crater shutout with a two-run single that brought in Dalton Garza and Will Tsukamaki from second and third base.

Cole Hamilton, in relief on the mound, kept the Comets off the board entering the seventh where the Viks tied the ball game up to force extras.  But, Crater would have the final say in this one as they had a sacrifice fly out that resulted in the game winning run in the bottom half of the eighth inning.

Tsukamaki led North Salem with two of the team’s seven hits while Pfenning had two RBIs for the Vikings. Hamilton had his first triple of the season to go with two innings on the mound.

The Vikings (0-2) play two more games on Wednesday vs Milwaukee at 11am and Westview at 5pmat Anhorn Field in Central Point, Oregon.
