SALEM, Ore.–  Though it was only the first look of the 2016 Royal Scot Track and Field team, the Junior Varsity Boy’s team shined in their first meet of the year as they dominanted a strong Sprague squad and McNary Team.

Sophomore Avori Miranda shined with wins in the 100 and 200 meter races.  Cyrus Mora (Javelin), Anton Maksyuntenko (High Jump), and Tristen Reedy (Pole Vault), Taran Trumbly (Long Jump) all chalked up wins in the field events as overall the McKay JV Boy’s Team saw eight total wins as a unit Tuesday afternoon.

Girls JV-  Though a third-place finish the Lady Scots had winners in the 100 meters (Racquel Williams), Esmeralda Arellano in the 200 meters and Kathy Estrada in the 3,000 meters.

Kathy Estrada (Javelin) and Jesse Garcia (Pole Valut) won their field events as the McKay JV Girls team saw eight other athletes finish in the Top 3 in the event.

VARSITY-

BOYS- The Scots took the 100 and 200 meter runs thanks to Hector Diaz Lopez and Isreal Garza to start the running events.  Aldolfo Nicolas and Damian Rios both finished in the top three in the 1500 meters behind winner Jake Donnellan of Sprague.  Nicolas also finished third in the 3000 meters.

The 4×100 meter team featuring R-Jay Chokai, Zach Hammack, Lopez and Garza won the event by 0.57 of a second over the Olys.

Garza was also a winner in the High Jump as Leo Sliva took the Javelin over McNary.  Hammack was too picked up another win, this time in the Long Jump.

GIRLS- The Varsity Lady Scots were one, two in the 3000 meters behind the speed of Hanna Caldwell (12:40.3) and Noami Gonzalez Partida (13:16.0).

Andrea Finnemore finished tops in the High Jump (4-6) and second in the Triple Jump (32’5″) as Katilyn Green would take third in the Shot Put (26’10”) and Javelin (64’10”).
