FOREST GROVE, Ore.–  The North Salem Wrestling Team were pretty successful in the second day at the GVC District Tournament at the Forest Grove High School.

Several athletes going deep into the consolation bracket, two finished District Runners-Up and a District winner.

That one, was 113-Pound Brandon Quezada.

The Second-Seeded junior found himself in a dogfight with Sprague’s Daniel McClug in a high scoring affair.

But, Quezada found a way, and won the 113-pound Speical District 5 bracket 13-11 as now he turns his focus to the State Tournament.

“It was so big, that kid was number two in the state and I’m like 13th,” Quezada described the feeling.   “It’s an incredible feeling.  I’m siked!”

“After beating the number two kid, I’m going to be seated pretty high,” continued Quezada as he described his focus for state.  “We’re going to have a really good bracket, just going to continue to work hard until I get there.”

For those who will join Quezada at state will be Josh Urbina (106) and Ian Carlos (126), both finished District Runner-Up Saturday afternoon for the Vikings.

Shannon Glover (120), Caleb Thompson (152), David Johnson (185), and Eduardo Ramirez 285 all just missed the State cut with finishing fourth in their respective weight classes during the District Tournament this past weekend.
