NEWPORT, Ore.– Stayton found themselves in a dog-fight entering the fourth quarter of their Friday Night’s match-up with the Cubs.
A once seven-point lead dwindled down to just three entering the fourth quarter, but thanks to a strong fourth-quarter, momentum changed from Newports end in a 41-38 back to the Lady Eagles (13-5, 4-2 Oregon West Conference) for good in a 22-5 run to seal their 13th-win of the season.
Tess Hendricks, Mariah Hollenbeck and Madison Anderson all had 14 points for Stayton in the contest. Hollenbeck added five steals to her 14 points and Anderson had a double-double thanks to 13 rebounds in the victory.
