SALEM, Ore.– Turnovers and fouls hurt the Scots during the opening quarter as Breeanna Mike’s field goal with 75 seconds left in the peroid was the only Scots made shot in a 28-2 quarter as the Titans went on to win 84-17 Friday night to resume Greater Valley Conference play.
But McKay’s defense clampt down in the second frame with permitting six Titan points in the first four minutes and slowed Delaney Henry down once they cut down on their turnovers and settled in.
The fifth-ranked West Salem defense did their part as well to keep the Scots from rallying entering halftime, by allowing just two points during that span before their offense scored eight to close out the half leading 38-7 at halftime.
The Titans once again capitalized on turnovers during the second half as they held a 66-14 entering the final frame.
Mike’s led the Scots with nine points in the contest.
SCORE BY QUARTER 1 2 3 4 — T
