STAYTON, Ore.–  Playing on the road is no easy task in any stretch of the imagination.

For the 15th-ranked team in 4A Stayton Lady Eagles (5-3) Basketball team, not just that they have to do that; their next three games are all on the road starting Thursday night versus Junction City (4-6) following their third-place finish in the SCTC Holiday Tournament to end 2015.

“We definitely have to take one game at a time and will stay focused on the task at hand,” said Eagles Head Coach Melissa Hollenbeck.  “The break was nice for the girls after the tournament.  We are rejuvenated and ready to start the new year out strong.”

Following the game versus the Tigers, Stayton will travel to Astoria (5-5) Saturday before ending their road trip on Tuesday at Sweet Home (2-5).

For Hollenbeck, she’s planning to use these three games as a team building opportunity to come together and grow as a team.

“Each game we are building and growing,” Hollenbeck started.  “We have to come ready to play each team we face.  The girls are excited about starting off the new year.  We are going to go down to JC and play our game.”

The start time for the Junction City game is for 7:15pm in Junction City.
