By halftime of the McKay junior varsity game against Dallas, the Royal Scots led 49-25, then led 68-37 after three in their opening win of the season.
“The energy was great. They were all working hard,” said JV Head Coach Matt Espinoza. “I told them, the win easy because during practice we worked really hard. Like we talk about in practice, after a game you’re not going to be that tired because practice was so hard.”
Despite their 37-point victory Tuesday evening, Espinoza admits that they need to improve on the little things with their game.
“When we get into the half-court, we’re horrible right now,” he said. “But it was a good first game and if you me this is where we’ll be to start the season, I say good progress so far.”
The Royal Scots JV is off until Tuesday, when they take on Century at home at 5:30pm.
