SALEM, Ore.—  With the Thanksgiving Holiday approaching around Parent-Teacher Conferences and the season just a mere week and a half away, the North Salem High School Boys Basketball team is trying to squeeze in practice in any way they can.

“We got practice every day expect for Thanksgiving,” said Vikings Head Coach Jordan Graneto.  “So that’s how we’re squeezing it in.

“So far it’s been fine, but we’ll see how the rest of the week goes, we’ve been only one day of it so we’ll see.”

Through that though, Graneto is impressed with how far progressed his team is compare to this point last season.

“So far, we’re a little farther along than we were last year,” he said.  “Just with all the drills and breakdown drills and stuff like that.  But we’re still a long ways away from.”

With South Albany coming to their house on December 2 a few things stuck out to Granteo as positives as his team enters Week 2 of the Basketball preseason.

“We’re learning more about what we’re trying to do offensively and defensively and being able to take care the ball and shooting a little better,” he said.  “Right now we’re a long way to go though before our first game.”

As the team continued to filter out of the gym and the Lady Vikings took to the court for their practice session, they’re a few areas of improvement they need to still approve on.

Intensity on the defensive front, continue to gain more confidence offensively and continue to get better shooting the ball.

But the North Salem Men’s team continue to be confident as they get better said Graneto.

“We’ll just keep working on getting better every single day and keep doing that.”
