SALEM, Ore.–  Even an injury won’t slow down Ivan Navarro Saturday afternoon at Sprague High School in the second round of the OSAA 4A Playoffs.

Behind Navarro four-goal performance in the 7-2 victory over Junction City, the Stayton Eagles Boys Soccer team is one win away from returning to the state championship game.

Freddy Navarro would add two goals and Alex Cramer added another in the win as they now turn to Henley of Klamath Falls.  Winner of the game faces the winner of the Sisters and North Marion next Saturday.

For the Tigers, Josh Hutchinson scored once in the 48th-minute and assisted on Seth Bolton’s 64th-minute goal. Gard Drag-Erlandsen assisted on Hutchinson’s goal  with a cross-over shot to set up the goal.

But the plan is simple entering Tuesday’s game for Stayton.

“Train Monday and play hard Tuesday,” said Eagles Head Coach Chris Shields.

Time and place yet to be determined.  Stay tuned to the OSAA website for more information.
