Are you a magazine, newspaper, news site in need of a sports writer or a freelancer to cover that game, do that preview or feature article or just wash your car until the Oregon Rain’s Come? I’m your guy!
Jeremy McDonald, 26-year-old sportswriter at your service.
I’ve been all over the Five in my brief journalism career, interned at the Medford Mail Tribune and KOBI Channel 5 for a combined year before spending the last two years freelancing for Gold Country Media in Placer County, California, (nestled alongside the beautiful Sierra Nevada and spitting distance of the state capital of Sacramento along Interstate 80!).
The last two years I’ve done everything: Preview articles, covered games, did features on everything from high school, junior college and auto racing and also did an occasional column on races I participated in (no worries, running not auto racing. I don’t think my wife would let me spend money racing cars. *laughter*).
I love writing, and I love sports. But my most favorite part of all is sharing what is happening in our community. Honestly I could care less about the money as long as I’m writing and sharing stories of what is happening in our community. I could write for free if it means just giving back to the community, keep your money.
That’s what I think journalism should be and is all about, giving back to the community more so than how much your paycheck says every two-weeks or every month.
Now, as I’m living in Wilsonville, Oregon; I am ready to give back once more!
So if you need a writer, freelancer or staff writer. Preview article, feature or game article, I’m ready to go!
I travel well. I’ll as far south as Springfield, north to Longview (Washington), east to Detriot Lake and Sandy, and west to St. Helens, Dallas and Corvallis!
My number is (541)-622-4385 and my email is jeremymcdonald73@gmail.com, feel free to get into contact with me to send me to a game! Make me work for you (I’m serious, I’ll even wash your car)!
But if you don’t need a sports writer, but know a need elsewhere in your newspaper? No problems! I can make the transition and do some general news stories as well! I am flexible!
Below are some of my pieces! My Resume is in the header above. I look forward to be writing in the great state of Oregon!
