We can take away four things on the San Francisco 49ers-Pittsburgh Steelers Sunday match-up that resulted in a 43-18 victory by Pittsburgh:  ‘Headset-Gate’, the  Steelers Passing game against the San Francisco and two topics on the 49ers offense.

Headset-gate– Pittsburgh came out guns blazing following their Week One loss to New England.  The Mini-bye week allowed the loss, in mix with ‘problems’ with their headsets allowed the Steelers to mull over the loss over the past ten days entering their game with San Francisco.

Defensive passing game- the Niners needed to get pressure on Ben Roethlisberger.  He had way too much time in the pocket to make his progression down the field and connect to his receivers, especially Antonio Brown.  Big Ben finished the game with 369 yards and three touchdowns and Brown had nine catches for 195 yards.

This allowed the running game of Pittsburgh to be successful because San Francisco were sitting on their heels expecting pass and allowed the Steelers to pick up 84 yards and three touchdowns (all three scores by DeAngelo Williams) on the ground.

Niners Offense-  The 49ers offense finally got clicking in the second half but the red and gold needs to do this sooner than the third quarter.  Not every game is going to be like the first against Minnesota when you can kick field goals and hope your defense can keep the opposing offense off the board.

Not to mention as well that the Niners need to convert in the red zone.  They only walked away with a field goal in three attempts in the red zone against the Steelers Sunday afternoon.

Offensive Line-  Going off my last topic, the offensive line needs to be better.  They allowed Colin Kaepernick to be sacked five times for 37 yards and not to add a handful of offsides calls.  They allowed Pittsburgh’s encroachment calls get into their heads early and once they saw a defensive play flinch, they attacked.

Most of all, the Niners need to get healthy.  Against Pittsburgh, the Niners saw Carlos Hyde and Vernon Davis to name a few go down with bumps and bruises and San Francisco need to get healthier considering its just Week Two of the season.
