Why are we focused on the here and now? Why are living in a society of muscle and money? Why are we just wasting away our natural ability in our own minds just to fit in?
We are so focused on the here and now and where it can lead us in the short run that we cannot think for the long run.
“Oh if I do this then I will be someone”
That is not the case. Yes, it’ll get you somewhere quickly but in the long run; you’ll fall short of the ultimate goal.
We are in a society that demands perfection from looks and braun to get ahead. Everyone has fallen for this ideology, myself included.
Why is this? Partially due to the media we look at everyday. Internet, the news, the magazines, so on and so forth.
All just to get a feeling of success, just to feel like we are part of a false ideology of being part of a “trend”.
A trend is a general direction in which something is developing or changing. Once something is popular, everyone would want to do it; i.e working out to look similar to one person or looks to fit in with a group.
I got a idea that would work.
Well, it’s more like a question-isc statement than anything.
Why must we follow a pre-existing trend? I mean we are all normal, there is no need to follow a trend “because it’s cool”.
We were all raised into believing that we must turn the other cheek, to be our own person, to be ourselves. Are we truly being ourselves by following a trend or are we already judging ourselves, judging other people; by this trend that is already set into place?
There’s a saying by our 16th president, Abraham Lincoln; whom said, “Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt.”
Action speaks louder than words.
By going against a trend, to ingore all those people whom might make fun of you along the way; by being youself, by being one true self in a society that demands you to be part of a trend.
In turn, you are creating your own trend, a new idenity that is unique amongst all other’s that is impossible to pass up and hard to ingore.
The people who are remembered in the long haul don’t follow trends. They are the trend-setters that other people follow to feel good about themselves because they are indeed jealous that they weren’t brave enough to create something on their own.
Remember this, it does not matter how much one can bench press, or how many records you have sold; because muscles and the fans will fade away. But your origniality, who you truely are will never fade away.
