The Raiders entered Senior weekend looking to send off their senior’s last home game stand with fashion. They had a tough time doing so Friday with a overtime loss to Corban University.
Sunday will bring one more opportunity to send them off in style.
The Lady Raiders (6-5-1, 2-2-1) are facing the Beacons of Northwest Christian. Southern Oregon owns a 6-0 all-time record over Northwest Christian (5-6-2, 3-2) and a goal ratio of 18 to 3 that includes two straight shutouts over the Beacons.
Northwest Christian is going to be challenging the Raiders with their defense as they bringing in a Cascade Collegiate Conference leading five shutouts and their 6.19 saves is ranked third in the conference. But the Beacons struggle to score with a 1.94 goals on the season on the offensive front with 125 shots on goal so far this season.
As for the Raiders, they hope to use their high octane offense to get around this stubborn defensive front. They rank second in the CCC with points at 65, goals with 25, shots on goal with 169; while their defense is ranking third in conference with goals allowed with 1.43 which plays in favor of the Raiders with the low offensive output by the Beacons.
For the Raiders home crowd, they will have one more guarantee shot to see senior Stephanie Carr break the all-time school record for most goals scored. She is currently tied with Katie Emerson with 32 career goals.
Kickoff for the Raiders and Beacons will be at 1p.m. at the Raider Soccer fields located behind the away stands of Raider Stadium.
