Heading into this weekend’s matches against Concordia and Warner Pacific, the Southern Oregon University Lady Raider’s volleyball squad find themselves three spots away from cracking into the the top 25 in the NAIA.

In hopes to do so, however, the Raiders are facing two squads that they have lengthy winning streaks against.

The Cavaliers of Concordia, whom the Raiders are playing on Friday, haven’t lost to Concordia since 2006.  That is a 12-match winning streak.

In this match, it is  expected to be a statistical advantage for the Raiders as they lead the Conference in attack percentage (.225), assists (12.67 per set), kills (13.64) and blocks (2.33) compare to Concordia’s hitting percentage of .202, assists of 11.94 per set,  kills of 12.61 and blocks of 1.8.

Heading into Saturday’s match, the Raiders are also heading into their match with Warner Pacific with a monster winning streak as the Raiders haven’t lost to the Knights since 1986.  Statisitcally, the Knights are near the bottom of the conference in blocks with .117 but are middle of the pack with hitting percentage at .200 and assists at 11.32.

At the moment the Raiders (12-7, 8-1)Volleyball squad stands a game behind number 15 College of Idaho in the standings.  College of Idaho is facing Corban University and Northwest Christian University this weekend.

Back in Ashland, the Raiders are tipping off both games at 7 p.m. in Bob Rheim Arena.
