SOU sports came to play on Friday being the bread and butter of it all to start this weekend’s slate of games.

In soccer, the Raiders (5-3-1) manage to shutout the Geoducks of Evergreen College not just on the scoreboard of their 1-0 win, but in shots as well as the Raiders themselves had nine in the whole match.

Senior Stephanie Carr scored the only goal of the match as she closes in on the all-time career goals scored.  The record is 32 and Carr currently at 31 heading into Sunday’s match against Northwest at noon at the University fields.

On the volleyball court, the Lady Raiders (11-7) approached the .400 mark in attack percentage as they swept the Beacons of Northwest Christian Friday Night with a .393 attack percentage.  The Raiders had a .571 attack percentage in the first set alone as they improve to 7-1 in Cascade Collegiate Conference play.

Three Raiders had over a .400 attack percentage and at least eight kills.  Natalie Scheller lead the team with 16 kills with a .652 attack percentage, Haley Kasler had nine kills with a .429 attack percentage and Nikki Keller had eight kills while leading the Raiders in attack percentage at .700.

The Lady Raiders are back in action tonight against Corban University at Bob Rheim Arena.

Football is in action today as they face number 16 Montana Tech in Butte, Montana.  The Raiders are looking to improve to 3-1 before heading back home next Saturday.

The Diggers of Montana Tech has a high power offense led by Nick Baker, whom has a 70.1 passing percentage and over 1,000 yards passing this season and they hope to take advantage on the young SOU secondary.

However the Raiders hope to use both sides of the ball to their advantage as their offense is ranked fifth in the nation in points with 45 a game and leads the nation in  other areas as well, such as first downs ( 29.7 per game) and total offense (585.7 yards per game).
