To this point of this summer, I’ve just been working and sleeping practically haha.
But I have gotten a story so far that would be a good memory from this summer at this moment.
Me and my girlfriend, Amber, were going up to Central Washington University for a campus tour for graduate school.
So we’re driving through Portland, Oregon coming from Salem…Traffic. Freaking bullcrap, stuck in it for days. Fu*king never living in Portland. Epsically on a Friday night.
We got outta that at about god knows when, and started down the Columbia Gourge, and switched at The Dalles, Oregon at a Burger King. Nothing eventful.
Crossed a bridge into Washington and drove for about an hour. Nothing Eventful.
We get to about 10 minutes outside of Yakima, and we’re on a highway in the middle of bum fu*k nowhere. I’m driving and the speed zone went from 35 to 50 miles an hour. I started to speed up a bit.
The idoit never got the memo, still doing 35, so I looked around him and saw cars about a mile away from us.
Plenty of Time I thought.
So I merged to the next line and hit the gas.
50, 60, 70, pushing 80 on this road. Keep in mind as these cars in front of us are catching up, that this is a Chevy Trailsblazer, a SUV, that I’m driving.
The car next to us decides to speed up and was keeping up with us, also a SUV. Freaking idiot,
Let us pass I thought.
“We’re not gonna make it! We’re not gonna make it!” screams Amber bracing for an impact with another car.
I look over with a stern face grin.
“Watch this.”
I floor the gas peddle and got some distance with this car next to us. The cars in front of us pulled over giving us some room.
The last second I see this median and pulled off my best Vin Diesel Fast and Furious move and got us into the next lane in just the neck of time.
“I Fast and Furious that shit right there!” I yelled with excitement, this shit would’ve got me a ticket in California or Oregon for sure haha.
Nothing from Amber. so I looked over.
She looks back. Hands locked out besides her.
“Well I got my cardio in for today.”
“You’re Welcome.”
Priceless. Made the last hour of the trip to Ellensburg worth it, and without a speeding ticket to boot.
