Congress has passed the Health Care Reform. In which, the biggest thing, is to require all Americans to purchase Health Insurance by 2014.
In my opinion, this is a mixed bag.
It is good because it requires employers to give employees health insurance or they will be fined as a employer. Giving employees a level ground to their fellow workers and employers.
Also, it silence those who are currently complaining about not being able to get health insurance because of the opportunity of getting it. It opens the flood gates to lower health insurance prices and opens honest competition to companies.
But the thing that kicks me is the fact we have to pay or we will have to pay a fine or higher taxes. I mean, what if we don’t got the money to get it? Or we are unemployed because that is still an issue here in the country. If we don’t have a job, we can’t get health insurance because of lack of money to pay for it.
What I think Congress should’ve done was to worry about continuing lowering unemployment rates first; and once this is lower this enough to pre-recession levels, then make this into law.
Yeah it won’t be until 2014 before it takes effect, the fact of the matter is that they are setting us up for failure at the moment. I would say wait until after you are re-elected Obama in order to really push for it.
What I think what they should do is to give us the most basic health insurance, charge us for it; and if we want better, or more, heathcare insurance, then we will have to go out and pay for it ourselves.
For those who are against it as I am a little bit; can be appeal even though its consider constitutional. But the best bet right now, is to wait until we got a new president after November’s election.
I like this idea of the law, but it isn’t the time or place. It just sounds like a desperation play by Obama to be re-elected as president.
