The NFL Pro Bowl is by far the most boring All-Star game that sports can offer in my opinion.

I mean, looking at the other sports all-star games, you got interesting contest’s (NBA All-Star game’s Slam Dunk Contest or the Homerun Derby in the MLB All-Star) as well as implications for the winning team in the Title Game (MLB All-Star game for the World Series).  Yeah, the NHL All-Star game is almost as tedious as the Pro Bowl, but the main difference between the two is in the NHL, there’s hitting involved in there All-Star game.  Keeping it interesting and the players actually want to play.

Look at this too.  In the Pro Bowl, everyone goes half speed.  No way we would see that in a regular or in the Super Bowl.  They get paid at least $25,000 or so to go half-speed.  Crap anyone would do almost anything to get $25,000 and these pro athletes are taking it for granted.

It’s gotten to the point that players are bailing out to heal up for the next season or for some strange reason.  If that doesn’t scream how much of a joke the Pro Bowl is; nothing would.

What I think what they do for the Pro Bowl is to get a semi-pro team or a college all-star team together and have them play against these “NFL All-Stars”; then these All-Stars would understand what it means to be a All-Star.  Nobody wants to be shown up from a semi-pro or a college player if your a “pro” at your particular craft.

I think it’s a good thing that the NFL had suspended the Pro Bowl, then maybe they can decide to change a few things to spice it up a bit to get viewers and the players a little more excited to play as if it’s a real game; because it’s gotten to a point that a pre-season game has more credibility then the All-Star game.
