For what seems like the infinte time NASCARs only five-time championship winner Jimmie Johnson was caught with illegal modifications on his car for the February 26th Daytona 500.

NASCAR set a “legal” standard in which you can adjust your car.  If your over or under these standards, it is consdiered cheating.

This isn’t Johnson’s first time cheating, he did the same excat thing in 2006’s Daytona 500 in which he wasn’t suspended but his crew cheif, (like the head coach in NASCAR), Chad Knaus was suspended for 5 races!

Both times I’m wondering why hasn’t NASCAR hasn’t suspended Johnson himself.  Yes he didnt do the changes per sa but he knowlingl drove a illegal car.  I look at it as this;

First time shame on you, second time shame on me.

The first time I understand giving Johnson a slap on the wrist and suspending his “coach”.  But since it happen again, at the same race track even, then the driver, this time being Johnson should be suspending for these illegal changes.

Now I understand a accident, every in the so-called sport does it.  But if your a well known driver like Johnson, accountability comes into play.  Once is ok, but twice in five years and you won all of these championships.  C’mon man how sketch does it look when that happens?

I say suspend him so it can teach him a lesson.
