After a year of sitting out of football with the “retirement” tag on his head, Randy Moss has decided to call off the retirement and wants to play in the 2012-2013 season.
But how good will the 35-year-old be? Espically if he has been sitting out of football.
Look at two other big name recievers at his age that are still trying to play; Terrell Owens (38), Chad Ochocinco (34).
Ochocinco played a minor role in the Patriots runner up apperence in Super Bowl XLVI with 15 catches and a touchdown this season while Owens was recovering from a knee injury he sustained from last season.
Owens is probably the best example. He was out for the season and is still trying to play next season for whoever wants him to play. Thats the problem.
Who wants a Moss?
Teams in need for a reciever like a Vikings (Moss’ old team), the Browns and the Bills to name a few that are in need of a big physical reciever like Moss that can get up there and get the ball that can help one of those teams out.
Why take the chance though? People can make the agurment that both players are up there in age, they were out for a year a piece, etc. But if Moss can get back to where he was before his retirement, then he will have a shot at be a soild number two somewhere if not a soild number one for a team like the Vikings or Browns.
