I realize this particular preview post is late, considering the Big Game is tomorrow.  But i thought why not save the best for last right?

So Super Bowl 46 is a repeat of Super Bowl 42 between The New York Giants and the New England Patriots.

In that game, the Giants pulled off the upset of the then undefeated Patriots.  We all remember David Tyree’s circus catch that set-up the Eli Manning-Plaxico Burress winning TD pass late in the 4th.

In this game, the Giants are yet again the underdog Wild Card team whereas the Patriots are yet again the number-one seed in the AFC.

I see this game as this; the Giants defense need to continue their dominance as they did against the Packers in the Divisional round and the 49ers in the Championship Round.  If they can get pressure on Tom Brady, they can keep the Giants in the game until the fourth quarter where “Mr. 4th Quarter”, Eli Manning can pull off his heroics again, (espically with the sub-par defense the Pats have).

But, alas, it’s the Patriots.  As long as the Patriots give Tom Brady some time in the pocket, they got a fighting shot of Super Bowl number four in 11 years.  Brady has the weapons in the passing game to pick apart almost any defense with Wes Walker and their tight ends.  It’s a simple gameplan for the Pats; Give Brady Time and you’ll win!

My Prediction:  Giants.  They kept up and beat the mighty 15-1 Packers, picked apart the fourth-ranked 49ers defense.  Eli Manning has been Mr. 4th quarter this season (18 TDs and a 111.9 QB rating in the quarter).  The momentum is on they’re side and it will carry them to another so-called “upset” on the Patriots.
