Every year millions of people create a list of things called resolutions to do for the new year. Things like losing weight, be more healthier, be around family more often, etc.
Every year most of those resolutions don’t last for some strange reason. I’m working too hard, I don’t have enough time to do it, etc.
Well, I was thinking about this idea of resolutions and here is what I came up with; the fact side of it and the crap side of it. Like the good and base behind it.
FACT: I look at resolutions as goals for the New Year. Goals to do or to simply to improve on. If you want to lose weight; start slow and work your way up. If you want to see family more; start planning stuff with them. Our problem is that we give up on our “resolutions” before they take off from the ground because of a lack of immediate results. We got to remember this, we got to be patient and the results will come. Remember, resolutions=goals not guarantees
CRAP: I hear about the strangest resolutions. Take a picture a day for an entire year; or write a song everyday. It’s reasonable, but come on be realistic. Life would happen and you will be steered away from your picture resolution. Don’t get me wrong, if your able to do this more power to you. My point is if your going to make a resolution, make it a little more reasonable.
Overall, I look at New Years Resolutions as a turning point. It’s a fresh start towards new goals. We must remember that resolutions are goals, not guarantees. Shoot for the moon but if you fall short; we still fall amongst the stars.
