I finally received my first assignment as a journalist yesterday.  But so far, no good.

I placed out my calls, left messages, I sent out e-mails about it, no responses.

The Assignment:  To cover four schools; Oakmont, Roseville, Woodcreek, and Granite Bay; and do previews for their girl’s tennis season for the fall.  Simple right?

Although I did recieve a e-mail this morning from the Woodcreek coach this morning giving me a rough time to call her about the assignment.  It’s a start.

I also really brifely talked to the Granite Bay coach yesterday, but he was in a hurry to practice and never returned my call.

This assingment is due immediately and I barely got a lead to go off of.

So I’m planning to call during the lunch hour and then about 5 or 6 if I don’t get a response from the lunch rush.

For the other jobs, no luck.  I haven’t heard back from anyone yet on possible job interviews.  Now I’m getting worried.

The worst part of it is, the free passes are for “local” residents only…well hell don’t send them out whenever someone applies there then.  Your bound to get that one outta town/outta state guy that decides to cash that shit in.

Gotta stay positive though…Legendary status
