Got the ball rolling somewhere.
Yesterday I went into Sports Authority in Sunnyvale off of El Camino Real just to check in on a application that I sent in online last week and got to talk to talk to a manager face-to-face.
The guy mention that they’re “really” hiring because everyone is leaving for school and all of that and then he took down my contact information and told me that they should get back to me on Monday. I also handed the guy a hard-copy, a paper-copy, of my resume for their personal records at the store.
I shaked the guy’s hand and walked out of the building feeling pretty excited.
Later on in the day, a number that I recongized as 24-hour fitness was calling me. I thought, Yes, finally, I got a call-back. But it wasn’t, it was just one of the employees asking if I was enjoying my free pass (that I was taking advantage of when I applied) and that if I come in tomorrow (today), then they’ll waive the registration fees. Got me all jacked up over nothing haha.
I haven’t heard from the sports editor of the Roseville paper yet. The reason behind me waiting is to see if it is ok for me to go and do a preview-article on the girl’s volleyball squads in the Sierra Valley League or not and to get a for-sure deadline on the previews. I don’t have the guy’s number, otherwise I would’ve called him by now to get a solid answer out of him on the issue. Hopefully he’ll get back to me by Monday because I really want to get the experience.
Today, I’m planning to turn in a hard-copy application to Big 5, which is near the 24-Hour Fitness and the Sports Authority I’ve applied to.
Gotta stay positive…Legendary status.
