Yesterday yield no results again.

I headed over to Play It Again Sports, a small store about a mile and a half from where I’m staying at that buys used sporting equipment and then sells it; they weren’t hiring.  Afterwards, I headed over the local Y that was about a half-mile away from PIAS to check out a application I sent in a few days ago.

I went in and the people behind the front desk were as confused as I am about the situation.  Here’s a little bit of the conversation.

“Who do I talk to check the status of my application?”

“Oh the FA application?”

“The what?”

“The FA application”

“Whats a FA–”

“Financial Assistant.”

I went on to say I’m applying to a Member Service Assistant, then the girl became confused and told me to leave a note for the manager and she’ll give it to her.

I also found out too that 24-hour fitness is doing call-backs next week.  I’m hoping that my four-years of working at the Southern Oregon University Fitness Center and my year and a half worth of being the equipment manager for the SOU football team while I was in college would be enough to get a call back.

Outside of that, I’ve applied for journalistic jobs at Yahoo! and AOL in hopes to get my foot in the door in the field of communication or journalism, (the proper degree that I received is Communication with an emphasis in Journalism).  I am hopeful that something good will come out of this.
