Disclamier: These three individuals gave me the chance to document their conversation, but they refuse to provide me with their names. This is a great example of the converstaion between the homeless. I identify the three by the types of hats that they’re wearing.

Sitting outside the Medford Gospel, sat three men, smoking, all were wearing different brands of hats. There’s one man, tall and large, wearing a Detroit Tigers hat, name Detroit. Another, a 52-year-old, skinny man was weaing a Seattle Mariners hat, named Seattle. Finally, another skinny man, wearing US Marines hat, name Marine. They’re talking about sports, espically with Seattle.

“I remember when Key Arena opend up in 1976,” started Seatlle, “Opening night and I was a part of the Choir there that night.”

“Yeah, the team would be good with Durant and Westbrook,” said Marine. “That stadium was a piece of [crap] though,” said Detroit.

The team tey were talking about was the former Seattle Supersonics from the National Basketball Association. The team is now known as the Oklahoma City Thunder. Then the talk switched over to the possible move of the Sacramento Kings to Anaheim, California.

“The Kings are moving to Anaheim ’cause of the same thing,” said Detroit. “Wasn’t the team moving to [Las] Vegas?” asked Seattle. “Yeah but the NBA was worried ’bout the gambling down there,” said Detroit.

Now Seattle stood up and walked over to the other two standing individuals.

“Yeah, well I remember growing up in the late ’60s/early ’70s in Detroit,” started Detroit, “Going to the Tigers stadium and that smell of cigars and roasted peanuts were still floating around.”

The conversation slowly switched over to music. They talked about how the city was famous for Bob Seger and Alice Cooper and how its know now for Kid Rock, Eminem and even Madonna.

“Detroit used to be known for its music back in the day, but now it’s known for Kid Rock, Eminem and Madonna,” said Detroit.

“Madonna? She’s just strange,” said Seattle.

They continue they’re conversation as they walked into the complex for dinner.
