Several local, Salem-area athletes placed at the first day of State. Here’s a rundown of how everyone did. Sorry if I missed anyone.

Long Jump
Nathaniel Martin of Dayton finished third in the 3A Long Jump with a jump of 20-feet-0.5-inches.
Claire Fish finished seventh in the 1A Long Jump with a PR jump of 15-feet-1.75-inches.
Regis’ Mac Parrish finished second in the 2A Long Jump with a jump of 16-feet-7-inches. Santiam’s Averie Peterson was fifth and Salem Academy’s Emma Brewer finished ninth.
Santiam’s Gage Twede finished fifth in the Long Jump with a jump of 19-feet-8.75-inches. Blanchet’s Now Contreras was eighth with a jump of 19-feet.
Eliza Nisly finished seventh in the 3A State Long Jump with a jump of 15-feet-8.75-inches.

High Jump
Willamette Valley Christian’s Caleb Reichelt finished 1A State Runner-Up at High Jump with a jump of six-feet, a PR. St. Paul’s Branson Cook finished tied for seventh.
Gervais’ Olivia Boyd won the 2A High Jump Title with a jump of 5-feet-4.25-inches. Salem Academy’s Emma Brewer PR’d with a jump of four-feet-nine-inches, finishing fifth. Blanchet’s Horte Gemedo PR”d with a jump of 4-feet-7-inches and finished tied for seventh.

High Jump
Willamette Valley Christian’s Maddy Blaha PR’d in the 1A State High Jump with a Jump of 5-feet-1-inch, finishing third.Vanessa Makarenko of Crosshill Christian was seventh with a jump of 4-feet-9.75-inches.

Pole Vault
Regis’ Tim Crowell won the 2A Pole Vault Title with a 12-foot jump, Gervais’ Isaiah Martushev was State Runner-Up with am 11-feet-9-inch jump. Santiam’s Marcos Moreno and Parker Hanna went four-five. The Rams Aidan Klascius was eighth
Scio’s Levi Forson was fourth in the Pole Vault with a jump of 12-feet-9-inches

Shot Put
Dayton’s Ethan Hedgecock finished seventh in the 3A Shot Put with a throw of 42-feet-5.5-inches
Salem Academy’s Caleb McGraw finished 2A State Runner-Up with a PR throw of 46-feet-8-inches. Blanchet’s Isaac Edo finished third, the Crusaders Aden Dardis fourth and Evan McKane was sixth

Discus
Hallee Hughes won the 2A State Title with a throw of 139-feet-3-inches. Santiam’s Emma Longfellow finished second with a PR throw of 133feet-8-,inches. Blanchet’s Molly Mucken was third. Kennedy’s Tia Allen was fifth. Willamina’s Zoie Sickles was eighth.
Amity’s Hailee Stewart finished seventh in the 3A Discus Meet with a throw of 93-feet-11-inches

Javelin
Willamina’s Hallee Hughes set a State Meet Record with a throw of 139-feet-3-inches. Gervais’ Lilly McCargar was State Runner-Up with a throw of 118-feet-8-inches. Blanchet’s Sarah Naegeli was fourth with a 116-feet-6-inch PR. Regis’ Adelle Otter was seventh, Gervais’ Olivia Boyd was eighth
