JEFFERSON, Ore.–  It was one of those games to end the season on.

For much of this game, the Lions Defense held strong against the Lakeview offense.  Holding the Honkers offense to five runs in the opening six innings of the game going into their seventh inning in what started as a 5-3 ballgame Saturday afternoon.

“This was probably one of the best games we had all season,” starts Nayeli Hart.  “We did all keep it together in the first inning.  We had our bats  going and our outfield was going.  It was pretty cool actually.  Outs that we have been  practicing for in practice, we finally put in for this game and we got a few outs..”

Hart had another stellar performance in the circle with 12-strikeouts.  Aziza Saad and Jocelyn Hart each led the offense with two hits each.  Payton Scovell, Jocelyn Hart and Trysten Reid each drove in an RBI as the Lions graduates two Seniors from their 9-13 squad as they closed out the season on Senior Night.

“It’s helped us a lot to know what we have and know what we’re working with and how to work as a team.  It’ll be good for us for next year,” Aziza Saad said. “We’ll have a solid team and almost all of the returners and we’ll be good.”

Lakeview closed out the game with five runs in the seventh inning, relying on the bunting game to get on base and challenge the Lions defense as Tyler McNeley struck out 12 in four-and-two-third-innings pitching.
