SALEM, Ore.–  Blanchet’s Zoe Moore has been on a tear the past three games for the Cavaliers, going 7-for-10 in that span with four Home Runs and 6RBI’s as Blanchet improved to 7-1 on the year midway through April and 3-0 for this past week following their 11-1 win over Regis Saturday.

“It was so great hitting those two on Thursday, come back again  yesterday and hit two more…it felt good to hit those two to help with our 4-3 win yesterday,” Moore said.  “It was good.  There were some slow times and then we picked it right up.  It took a few (innings) yesterday, the seventh inning we rallied and it was amazing. We had a few bloopers, but that’s all we needed to get those wins.  As a team, we’ve grown incredibly.”

In Saturday’s game, Blanchet jumped out to a 9-0 lead going into the third inning before Kenzi Schacher and the Rams defense slowed the Cavs offense pace down significantly.  Senior Alli Hendericks broke the then 11-0 shutout in the fifth inning with an RBI single that brought Mayla Manning home.

And despite the loss, the Rams are 3-3 on the season.  The most wins that the program has won since the 2018-2019 season.

“It’s been good because throughout my high School career we got to play one season.  So it’s been nice to have another senior year and it’s nice to have a bunch of new freshmen  coming in and so the team continues,” Hendricks said. “This game is going to help a lot because I think they’re ranked third or fifth, but we’ve learned a lot from it and we know what we know to work on and we’ll be good.  We need to work on not getting down on one another, and during this game we got better at that and we encouraged each other more which is good.”

Hendricks had the lone hit and RBI for the Rams, who will host Culver Tuesday at 5:!5pm.  Schacher struck out six in four innings for Regis. Jacquilyne Hendrix led Blanchet with 2RBI’s in Saturday’a win as Regan Rasmussen struck out five in four innings and Alana Jensen struck out three in an inning.
