KEIZER, Ore.– The McNary Boys Lacrosse team’s defensive play was on par Friday night as they defeated Tualatin 7-3. Their three-goal allowance, their fewest they’ve allowed to this point this season, look to continue to take the right step in the right direction winning two of their last three games.
“It was amazing. That was the first time I think our defense really clicked. A lot of it just came from communication,” starts goalie Hunter Roberto. “Everyone just worked well together, our middie’s did a great job at getting back and playing defense as well. Everyone is finally coming together and healthy. We’re all just building together, everything is coming together and we’re all becoming a family together. We just played gritty and got it out.”
Roberto collected six saves in the win, three in each the second and fourth quarters of the win. Roman Burrus and Jesse Dyer each recorded a hat trick (three goals) as the Celtics look for their third win of the season Tuesday against Clackamas before hosting the Oregon Episocial School (OES) on Friday. Both games are at 8pm at McNary High School.
Around Salem, West Salem defeated Roseburg 15-5 for a 6-2 start to the year while Sprague-South Salem fell to Mountainside 15-0. and are currently 2-3 on the year.
