Cascade finished District Runner-Up to Sweet Home while Dallas won the Mid-Willamette Conference Title by 213 team points with the State Wrestling Tournament starting this week at Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Portland.
Here’s a round-up:
OSAA 4A Special District 2
Cascade’s Trenton Wymore (145), Blake Perlichek (195) and Nicholas Lopez (285) won District Titles for the Cougars. Tayton Miller (138), Ethan Coates (160), Tucker Melton (182) all were District Runner-Up with 19 wrestlers placing with Cascade finishing District Runner-Up to Sweet Home with 363 Team Points at Cascade High School.
Stayton’s Conrad Baxter (120), Leonardo Michel (126) brought home District Titles for the Eagles. North Marion’s Levi Farrens (106), Jesus Barba (120), Bruce Bankhead III (145), Antonio Guarnieri (170) all placed fifth for the Huskies, who finished fifth as a team with 101.5 Team Points.
OSAA 5A Mid-Willamette Conference
Dallas won the Team district Title with 468 team points as Carsen Atterbury (106), Jose Romero (126), Andrew Craven (132), Cole Langford (182), Emiliano Rocha (195) won District Titles and Arik Brecht Crabtree (285), Eli Nava (220), Garrett Munkers (170), Eli Hess (160), Isaac Jones (138), Sully Hill (126) and Jace Spencer (113) finished District Runner-Up at the Salem Armory in Salem.
Silverton’s Oscar Marks (160), and Brash Henderson (220) both won District Titles. Steven Powell (182), Joshua Jones (152), Bo Zurcher (132) finished District Runner-Up as the Foxes finished second.
McKay’s Ismael Flores won the 120 pound District Title. Michael Menzie (285) finished third and Garet Flores (132) was fourth for the Scots. Central’s Ethan Dunigan won the 152 pound District Title. Jose Lugo (195), Keeney Porter (182) each finished fourth for the Panthers.
West Albany finished second in the team points with 255 points with Derek Sossie the lone District Winner at 145 pounds.
