HARRISBURG, Ore.– It took Amity a while to warm up, but when they did, they were cooking.

After trailing two possessions early, the Warriors tied the game up at eight and led 10-8 after the first quarter before expanding their lead to 33-19 by the halftime break.  Consistency was important as they came out of thr halftime break without missing a beat as they led 62-34 going into the final frame.

Shots were falling.  Matter of fact, in their 83-55, they hit nine three-pointers in their highest point total of the season as they start a busy week with four games including Monday’s MLK High School Showcase at Harrisburg High School.

“The majority of it was teamwork.  We were kind of playing individual ball at first and once we went into halftime and towards the end of the second quarter, we decided to play as a team and as a unit and that’s how we went on that run,” Andrew Grove said.

“We got some huge games coming up.  We’re getting halfway through league, we got Sheridan next and SC (Santiam Christian) on Thursday and they’re two big games and teams we need to beat if we want to make the playoffs this year,” adds George Meeker.

Meeker had 16 points to lead Amity, Grove contributed another 13 points as the Warriors will host Sheridan Tuesday at 6pm.  JJ Howard (11) and Trent Carton (10) with Amity scorers in double-figures Monday.
